Arena Director - Steve Zavala
Dear Committee Members & Guests,
I would like to thank the Creator for bringing us all together to
support and celebrate our culture and heritage, the opportunity to take
part in
your event and for being selected to be your Arena Director.
I was born and raised in Southern California by a
wonderful family, Thank
you Mom and Dad Curry. I enlisted in the United
States Army and was assigned to the Army Security Agency /
INSCOM (Operation Just Cause -- Republic of Panama) and retired after
twenty years of service to my country. I still serve my country by
working and supporting the troops at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio,
Texas.
I am privileged to be a member of the Fort Sam Houston Alaskan Native /
Native American Indian and Asian Pacific Islander Special Emphasis
Committee and the Alamo Gourd Dance Society. I enjoy participating in
Powwows throughout Texas. I wish to thank all those involved in
putting together this beautiful Powwow. I appreciate all of the
hard work that has
gone into the planning and preparation for this fine event and wish to
thank
all those who have honored me by asking me to be a part of it. This
demonstrates the goodness in all cultures.
Again, thank you for participating in this wonderful powwow. I
wish all a good time today.
Waddo and Ajo.
VR Steve,
